Grading Scale:

Your final Grade is based on the following grading scale:

100 points will be possible for the course plus extra credit - but the course will be graded out of 100.

Points will be earned as follows:

• • In Class Engagement - 31

  • Weekly Reading Responses - 27

  • Essay Proposals - 3

  • Essays - 39

Grade breakdown

• • A  90 - 100 points

  • B  80 - 89 points

  • C  70 - 79 points

  • D  60 - 69 points

  • F    0 - 59 points

Weekly Assignments

Weekly Responses are (usually) due on Sunday night at 11:59 p.m.

Reading Response Weeks

Each week you have a short response due by Sunday night at 11:59 p.m. worth a total of 2 points. The minimum amount of writing is 400 words to get full credit. 

Essays

There are three essays each worth 13 points. These essays will need to be about 1500 words (about 5 pages) double spaced, Times New Roman Font.
